Elsa’s Kopje
Meru National Park – Kenya
Elsa’s Kopje has two new rooms. The honeymoon suite has a private sundeck, sitting area, bedroom and en suite bathroom. Wonderful to enjoy a leisurely morning watching the sun rising, or to relax with a bottle of wine in the cool of the evening watching the stars appear. Our cosy family suite has a sitting room, bedroom and en suite bathroom. You can’t beat the spaciousness and views through the trees watching leaping monkeys and hyrax trying to get those final few delectable leaves!
Benguerra Lodge

Ilha de Benguerra - Mozambique

Benguerra Lodge re-opens December 2007, following the setback suffered with Cyclone Favio earlier this year. In upgrading the lodge, Benguerra has kept its character small and intimate, with a warm East African / Arabic feel. The lodge opens with 10 new private, luxurious rooms called “Casitas”. Each Casita has beautiful sea views, a comfortable lounge and 100 m² of private deck, complete with plunge pool and outdoor dining gazebo.
Benguerra Lodge remains the ultimate in barefoot luxury!
Loldia House

Lake Naivasha – Kenya

There is nothing more synonymous with the Great Rift Valley than its flamingos and Lake Nakuru is described as the 'World's most fabulous bird spectacle'. There are up to 4 million lesser flamingos and 50 thousand greater flamingos in East Africa. Each can eat 184 grams of spirulina algae per day, and sometimes there are as many as 1.5 million flamingos in residence at Lake Nakuru, consuming 184 tons a day! Loldia House guests debate whether the highlight of their stay was being looked after by Peter the house manager or a trip to Lake Nakuru!

How's That!

Tena Tena  Luangwa Valley – Zambia

The Red Indian curtain saves JO
My grandfather’s bathroom was “out of bounds”. Hidden behind a Red Indian curtain we had to run past this forbidden barrier to get to the loo. In my childish mind I imagined all sorts and so have always checked before sitting. A few years ago this saved me. Getting up early in the morning, before dawn, I did my usual check of the loo but thought it looked a little dark! So I nipped behind the grass hut and went off for breakfast. Later, after seeing the guests off, I found a huge spitting cobra curled up in the water. So my childhood fear had saved me!
