Mkulumadzi
Mkulumadzi is located in Majete Wildlife Reserve, 70km South West of Blantyre. Majete is a vast region of mature woodland and granite hills, picturesque river valleys and dense forest. It is home to the elusive black rhino, along with elephant, buffalo, nyala, sable, eland and hartebeest.
Surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession, Mkulumadzi enjoys an idyllic location at the confluence of the Shire and Mkulumadzi rivers shaded by giant leadwood trees. The eight luxury chalets with unique vegetated green roofs are tucked beneath the surrounding riverine forest of marula’s, leadwood’s and star chestnut trees. Each comprises of a spacious bedroom and lounge area, en-suite bathroom with sunk-in bath and double basins, outdoor double shower and private viewing deck.
Activities on offer whilst staying at Mkulumadzi include game-drives, boating safaris, bush walks, hiking Majete Hill, cultural tours, birding trips on the Shire River and to nearby Elephant Marsh and game-viewing from a hide.
